Pit Black

This week I'm playing in the orchestra for a local production of Pirates of Penzance. Tonight was our opening night. I'll most likely be wearing this dress to all three shows.

Dress: Calvin Klein
Shoes: ...So old I don't even remember...

Blog Envy

I am completely in love with Kendi Everyday.

She has such an awesome sense of style AND sense of humor. Yesterday, during my "sit on your ass and do nothing" celebration, I decided to go through her archives. I'm happy to say that I did not waste any time with this decision.

She has so many fantastic ideas to help reorganize your closet and make exciting outfits with what you already own!

Her 30 For 30 Challenge asks you to use 30 items from your closet to make 30 different outfits.

And her Working Closet Series seems obvious, but it is EXACTLY what I need to tame my closet situation.

I am so excited to get started with the closet series and the remix challenge! Pictures soon!

Didn't Even Have To Use My A.K.

When I get out of bed this morning, Frank was making blueberry pancakes. He said, "I made one just for you."

That should have been a clue as to how awesome today would be. We decided to travel out to a nearby outlet mall that opened last year. On the way, I saw a sign that said "Ghirardelli Chocolate Outlet" and I knew we'd made a good decision. First, we visited the Banana Republic factory store and I bought an adorable pair of shorts for $8! We wandered around until we found the chocolate outlet and a frozen yogurt/smoothie shop next door to it. He bought two chocolate bars and I had the most amazing frozen yogurt!

I'd say that was a successful trip to the mall.

But wait... there's more...

This day couldn't get any better, right? Wrong. We got two tickets to Deathly Hallows part II and got a Publix sandwich on the way home. So here I sit on my living room floor, painting my toe nails and drinking beer.

"I gotta say it was a good day."

Summer So Far

Well, it's officially been summer for about a week. And that week has been full of things to talk about!

We spent a few hours of the first day of summer(Tuesday) in the dark. The weather has been a little crazy lately, so we've had several power outages because of the wind. Friday was our free day, and when I woke up Frank said I looked different and wanted to measure me. The results?? I lost an inch and a half around my waist! How did we spend the rest of our morning? Stuffing our faces with this...

Chocolate chip bagel with honey walnut cream cheese? Yes. Ma'am. The rest of the day was spent wandering malls and thrift stores. That evening I got to hang out with friends and have a couple cupcakes drinks.

Saturday morning we had breakfast at The Original Pancake House.

Like I always say: If chocolate is a breakfast option, I'm having chocolate for breakfast. Immediately after we ate, we drove to Cullman to visit my family. We all had lunch at THE BEST Mexican restaurant on the planet. I even got to hang out with Dad for a few hours. Overall, it was a successful 25th birthday.

Since then, I've just been working, hanging out with my little friend Trevor...

...and pursuing a job opportunity. (Fingers crossed)

Don't you feel better after reading about my painfully boring thrilling summer? I thought you might.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! I love you. :)

I just got home from a little visit with my family. It was really nice to escape life as a grown up and let my Mommy take care of me for a few days. Plus, she's so excited about this cruise she already bought me a few things for the trip!
