A Camping We Will Go!

Thursday morning I will venture off into the wilderness with my parents and younger sister. (And by wilderness I mean a camp ground located one hour north of my childhood home...) Anyway, after agreeing to go with them I began to realize how unbelievably homesick I am. I haven't seen them since February 7th - my dad's birthday. I'm so excited to spend time with them and get away from Birmingham for a few days. Of course I'll miss my Frank and our cat-children, but it will be nice to be away from work.

Here's where things get scary... I love my family dearly. I truly have fantastic parents and a great sister, but I can attribute MOST of my bad habits to them. I am so worried about the food they're going to bring. No doubt there will be sodas, chips, and snack cakes out the wazoo. My only redemption will be the ability to jog somewhere at the camp ground. Maybe I can convince Erica to go for a hike with me.

*sigh*

Welcoming Spring!

I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden. ~Ruth Stout

A Perfect Day...

We awoke only because the sun was sneaking through the blinds. No alarm. No call from work. (Well...work called...but that doesn't mean I answered.)No screaming cat.

Just sunshine.

The weather was beautiful. Even with a cool breeze, it was beautiful. We decided to break fast with pancakes at The Original Pancake House. I had chocolate chip pancakes. What could possibly be better than chocolate for breakfast? Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of them, but I found a picture of them online. Close enough.

After breakfast, we drove up to Vulcan. "You Are Beautiful" graffiti has been popping up in the city and Frank suggested we take a few pictures.

After our adorable photo shoot, we went to The Summit to pick up his present and then to Whole Foods for some goodies. Guess which one is mine. :)

Later, Frank picked up some groceries to make dinner. He's such a good cook.

Now, we're watching The Social Network.

It's been a perfect day.

Snowpocalypse 2011: Day One

I am snowed in. The freezing rain fell for about an hour and a half, then it was time for snow. The snow lasted a couple hours, and the second round of freezing rain is finishing up now. Thankfully, the power is still on. If we happen to lose power, we have several logs for our fireplace. Maybe we won't freeze to death.

Happy Independence Day to all!

This is my second favorite holiday. My first is New Year's! I think I have a thing for fireworks.

Why I love Facebook...

We live in a world where technology has become a necessity. What's the first thing you do when you wake up every morning? For me it's 1. brush teeth 2. eat breakfast/check Facebook. My Facebook is FULL of memories, inside jokes, and people I will never forget. I'm the girl that's kept a journal since 11th grade. I'm obsessed with reading old entries and seeing my old statuses.

This application: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=54715426813 gathers every status update since August 2008! Here are some of my favorite statuses of 2010...
