Chaminade

Christmas break is now one step closer. I performed my jury earlier today. The Chaminade Concertino... It went well considering my lack of preparation. The piece is not difficult but it is really flashy (like most French pieces). I'll have a chance to redeem myself when I play the same piece for the Mary Karen Clardy masterclass in January.

Best Poem EVER

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

-Pablo Neruda

Memorial

"Students and teachers made a human chain inside the premises of their school to pay homage to the victims of Mumbai's recent attacks, in the northern Indian city of Lucknow. Fresh evidence unearthed by investigators in India indicated that the Mumbai attacks were managed from at least two Pakistani cities by top leaders of the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba." - The New York Times

Home Alone...

I am home alone. I need things to keep myself entertained... Things that do not involve studying or practicing.  So, I decided to add to my blog. I have found inspiration in other blogs; therefore, I will dedicate this to all things I find interesting... clothing, poetry, music, animals etc.

Last night I was stranded in Brookwood Village for a few hours. I ended up in Books-a-Million when the other stores began to close. I found myself reading this issue of Vanity Fair. How cute is Tina Fey?!
