Cardio, Anyone?

I think I might actually be crazy.

But...

What more motivation could a girl need?

No more wasting time. Sh*t just got real.

Thrifty Thursday... On Friday

I don't imagine I'll have a thrift store post every week. Most of my trip to the Salvation Army are not as successful as the last two have been. But I'll do a post whenever I find something worth talking about.

If you didn't already know, I have a 1 year old cat named Penny. She and her "brother" Odie have destroyed my couch. So, I've been searching for a replacement. And last week... I found it!!!

Cute, right? And it has cute little wooden feet. I love it. It's wide enough that I can curl up and take a nap in it. I'm going to look for cute pillows for it soon.

Oh... and it was only $70! So thrifty.

The Cloud Atlas

I recently came to the conclusion that I need to read more often. Maybe a more accurate statement would be that I need to read period. I wanted a list of suggested books. A book bucket list, if you will. A friend of mine is a literature major working on his master's degree. He suggested the book 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die to get me started. After shifting through the list I randomly chose titles to search at the library.

I ended up making a mistake and came home with a book that wasn't on the list. Cloud Atlas can easily be mistaken for The Cloud Atlas.

::sigh:: Lesson learned: Always make sure you have the correct author.

Anywho, I've decided to keep the book. Hopefully, I won't be disappointed.

By The Numbers

2: The number of pounds I lost this week.
4: The size of the pants I'm wearing in the picture.

I feel amazing. Seeing those numbers brought me out of my slump. It's working.

It. Is. Working.

I truly wish I could tell you these were pictures of my home. Unfortunately, my home is an apartment that eerily resembles a college dorm room. My closet is chaos, my kitchen is scary, and my bathroom looks like one you might find in a truck stop somewhere south of here. As I've mentioned before, I am not the domestic goddess that I long to be. I ignore clutter and quickly let go of promises to get my homemaking act together.

But as every good homemaker knows, promises are like pie crusts...

Thrifty Thursday

I'm not normally a huge fan of digging through clothes at thrift stores. Most of my thrift store visits are spent in the shoe or accessory sections. However (comma) I found the most fantabulous thing on my last trip. I came out of the restroom and saw a long rack of gaudy, ugly dresses. So, I decided to shift through them for shiggles. Only, my shiggles came to a screeching hault when I found this...

At first I thought, "Wow. That's a cute dress." But as I looked closer, I saw a tag with the number six (my size) and a second tag that said "J.CREW." I grabbed the dress and looked around to make sure no one was preparing to snatch it from me. It fits and it's adorable.

See?

Honesty is (not) the Best Policy

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

During the previous week:
1. I did not use salt instead of sugar in my coffee.

2. I absolutely did not read a motherhood/family blog (O My Family) from start to finish. That's right… we're talking three years of blog posts.

3. I did not CRY when I read part one and part two of AllisonO's beautiful birth story. **I find it hard to believe pushing a human through your body can be that… beautiful (Can't think of any other descriptor)

4. I could not even imagine spending the past few weeks reading natural birth stories on various "mommy blogs"

5. I definitely not insane enough to stand on the side of a mountain and watch an F5 tornado rip its way through the north part of my county.

6. I did not get up at 5 a.m. to watch the royal wedding… FIVE. A.M. Madness.

7. I did not give cupcakes to a class of 3 year olds at 9:30 Friday morning. **disclaimer: Not my fault. Snack is scheduled for 9:30. Someone's mom brought cupcakes for snack. Not. My. Fault.

8. I certainly did not have one of those (delicious) cupcakes for MY 9:30am snack

9. I am not guilty of leaving my GPS at home while trying to find the children I needed to babysit. Said children did not see me circling their neighborhood and certainly did not tell their mother.

10. I absolutely positively did not watch an encore presentation of the royal wedding as I made a draft of this post.
